EIFEC Governance

EIFEC’s organizational values are derived from the flagship EU-CEC Standards Principles of transparency, commitment to Compliance, accountability, consistency, and effectiveness. In keeping with these principles, a multi-stakeholder governance structure and method provides guidance and advice.

Governors Council

The Council is the governing body of the Institute.

The Chairman is Dr. Ilja Gardi. Born in Prague, is a former Italian Government Commissioner with highest experience in laying out complex multilayers organizational frameworks, validation, certification and accreditation processes. His main achievements are the in "hot areas" as Middle East and Asia, where dr. Gardi has negotiated, signed and managed several bilateral, multilateral intergovernmental agreements.

Dr. Gardi is Governing Member of several Foundations participated by Public and private entities.

Recently has been appointed as Master Plan Team leader for the Reconstruction of the Iraq Health System between a EU member state and Iraq.

Other Governors are Academics, Compliance Officers and Export Specialists

Technical Committee (TC)

TC provide guidance and recommendations on the technical content and development of the EU EXPORT COMPLIANCE FRAMEWORK (EU-ECF).

Proposes to the Council the granting and maintenance, the extension, renewal, withdrawal of recognition/ certification in accordance with the findings of special investigation; Carries out periodic checks on the activities of the identified individuals/organizations, and reports to the Governors Council.

TC sends reasons for admission to the Governors Council on applications for admission of new Members.

TC send reasoned opinions to the Governors Council on appeals against the exclusion deliberations.

International Scientific Committee or Advisory Board

The International Scientific Committee provides broad, senior-level stakeholder representation from the public and private sectors, civil society, and the standards community. 

The Committee provides strategic guidance and facilitates mission of advancing Export Compliance by increasing the impact of its standards and providing transformative solutions.
